Everything you need to know about training with ODU Active — from your first session to long-term progress.

General

ODU Active is a science-based personal training service built on over a decade of coaching experience. Founded by Paul, our team designs structured programmes that create real, measurable progress — whether your goal is fat loss, strength, muscle gain, or general fitness. We don't do generic. Every client is assessed, tiered, and coached with a system built around their specific needs.

ODU Active is for people who are serious about results. We work with beginners who need structure, intermediate athletes who have plateaued, and anyone who wants a coach that takes their goals as seriously as they do. If you're willing to commit, we're equipped to deliver.

We offer both in-person and online sessions. In-person sessions are conducted at agreed locations in Nairobi. Online sessions are held via Zoom. You select your preferred format during the booking process.

Paul began training people informally in 2015 — starting with friends and anyone motivated enough to show up consistently. Over time, demand grew into a structured coaching practice. ODU Active formalises that experience into a system that delivers repeatable, trackable results.

Getting Started

Start by booking a Consultation or Initial Assessment through our booking page. Once confirmed, you'll complete our Client Onboarding Form — this helps us understand your health background, fitness history, goals, and lifestyle. Your responses are reviewed, and selected applicants are contacted with a tailored programme recommendation.

The Client Onboarding Form is how we get to know you before your first session. It covers your health and medical background, fitness history, goals, lifestyle habits, and nutrition. This isn't admin — it's how we filter and tier clients to make sure we give you the right programme from day one. The more honest your responses, the better your results.

Your coach will share the onboarding form link after your booking is confirmed. You can also access it directly below.

Complete Onboarding Form

No. We work with all levels — from sedentary to very active. The onboarding process helps us place you in the right tier and design a programme at the right intensity for where you are right now.

Twelve weeks is the minimum time required to build real, visible traction. Short-term programmes produce surface-level results. The 12-week structure gives your body time to adapt, gives us time to adjust the programme based on your progress, and gives you time to build the habits that make results last. It's not arbitrary — it's the standard because it works.

Sessions & Scheduling

  • Single Session ($25) — A standalone 45-minute session. Great for a taster or movement assessment.
  • Monthly Package ($300/mo) — Three sessions a week, in-person or online, with weekly reviews and full coaching support.
  • 2-Month Program ($560) — Eight weeks of structured coaching. In-person, online, or a mix of both.
  • 3-Month Program ($800) — Twelve weeks of progressive coaching across two phases. Our recommended starting commitment.
  • 6-Month Program ($1,600) — Twenty-four weeks across two full training phases. For clients serious about lasting transformation.

  • Consultation (Free) — An introductory session to discuss your goals. No commitment required.

Sessions are available in two windows: Morning (5:00am – 11:30am) and Afternoon (2:00pm – 8:00pm) in 30-minute slots. Select your preferred slot during the booking process. Availability varies by date.

Saturdays are available as Request Only days. You can submit a booking request and your coach will confirm availability. These are not guaranteed slots — confirmation is required before the session is finalised.

After submitting your booking request on WhatsApp and attaching proof of payment, your coach will review and confirm within 24 hours. You'll receive session details including location (for in-person) or Zoom link (for online).

What to Bring

Every client is briefed on their responsibilities before their first session. Here's what we expect from you — upfront, no surprises.

Water

Bring enough water for your session. Hydration is your responsibility — we don't supply it at in-person sessions.

Proper Attire

Wear appropriate training gear. Comfortable, breathable activewear and supportive footwear. No jeans, no open-toed shoes.

Show Up On Time

Sessions begin and end at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, the session still ends on time — there are no extensions.

Communicate Issues

If something comes up — pain, scheduling conflicts, a health change — communicate it before your session, not during. Your coach adjusts better with notice.

Payments

We accept M-Pesa and bank transfer. Payment details are shown during the booking confirmation step. Here they are for reference:

Payment is made before your session is confirmed. After submitting your booking request on WhatsApp, send your payment screenshot alongside the message. Your coach will verify and confirm once payment is received.

All payments are non-refundable except in cases of a confirmed medical condition or relocation. If you need to cancel for one of these reasons, contact your coach with supporting documentation and we'll review on a case-by-case basis.

No. All sessions must be used within the agreed programme period. Sessions that expire unused are forfeited. If you're struggling to attend, speak to your coach — we'd rather adjust the schedule than lose your sessions.

Cancellation & Attendance

Our full Cancellation & Attendance Agreement is available to read below. Every client agrees to these terms before their first session.

A minimum of 12 hours' notice is required for any cancellation or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 12 hours' notice are charged in full.

No-shows are charged in full. Your coach reserves that time exclusively for you. If you know you can't make it, communicate — we'd rather reschedule than charge for an empty slot.

Sessions begin and end at the scheduled time. Arriving late means a shorter session — the end time does not move. If you're running late, message your coach immediately so we can make the most of the remaining time.

If ODU Active cancels a session, it will be rescheduled at no cost to you or credited to your account. This is a two-way agreement — we hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of our clients.
